What it actually does
A matcher, not a list
When a slot opens, matching waitlist entries are offered it. The client accepts or declines and the calendar updates — nobody works down a list by phone.
Cancellations stop being losses
The gap a late cancellation leaves is the most expensive thing on the calendar. This is the mechanism that closes it while the day is still salvageable.
