What it actually does
The reversal is a record, not an edit
Refunding writes a reversal rather than mutating the original sale, so history stays true and reporting stays reconcilable.
A money event only
Refunding updates the payment's status and amount; it never touches the appointment or the sale itself, so a refund can never silently change what was scheduled or sold.
